    Accessing Funds:

As these qualifications, including any Maths or English Functional Skills are Funded via the National Apprenticeship funding Pot, there are a few criteria that must be met before funding can be claimed...

    • The Nursery setting must be based in England. (Different schemes run in other parts of the country and are devolved).
    • Staff entering the Program must live in England and be a UK citizen.
    • Staff entering the program must be employed by the business and this must be evidenced via a valid contract of Employment.
    • Staff entering the Program must work for a minimum of 16 hours per week within the business that is claiming the funding.
    • Staff must be in a relevant Job Role in order to undertake the qualification

Maths and English for full recognition:

The Childcare sector requires that Early Years Educators have full and relevant Maths and English qualifications as well as the award itself to be full relevant. But, not everyone has these. That is fine. This program includes FREE access to the GCSE equivalent, the Functional Skills Maths and English qualifications at Level One and Two.

Delivering Maths and English Functional Skills:

If Applicants don't have GCSE's (or if they do) we'll complete an assessment of their current levels at induction. From this we will devise a fully supported, individualised learning plan for each Student. This will guide learners through areas for improvement right up to the exams.

Functional skills Maths and English are completed alongside the apprenticeship so that Students complete them before the end of their program. This means that by graduation, they have everything they need to be compliant and qualified to the industry standard.

    End Point Assessment:

These courses include an end-point assessment after all learning is completed. You can think of this as the test at the end of your driving lessons when you are learning to drive. They are not exams, but are a combined set of tasks, such as discussions and multiple choice tests that ensure that Students have learned everything to the correct standard.

The learning Portfolio and the End Point Assessment contribute to the overall grade applied to each student. These are:

    • Pass
    • Merit
    • Distinction

Who completes the End Point Assessment with me?

Students receive a lot of support from their Personal Tutor Assessor before the he End Point Assessment is scheduled. Once the Student, and their Tutor Assessor are confident, this is then arranged with an independent organisation, who will conduct the Assessment.

WMC Training will arrange this with you.

All learning towards this assessment will be completed during the apprenticeship and we will ensure readiness for end-point assessment throughout the program.
